 2018 Season

What?! Another season is starting for the Ellas and we couldn't be more excited! First thing on our agenda is Get to Know You Night on September 7th from 6:30 to 9:00 pm at the High Level Arena. Come on out and say HELLO to one of the Ellas and find out some more information about the upcoming season.

We are doing a fresh meat intake this fall for any new skaters who would like to try roller derby out. The dates are September 12th and 21st at 7 pm at a location to be determined. We will bring all the gear for you to try out, you just need the guts, determination and a mouth guard!

We will also be hosting another Bouts and Stouts Night on September 27th at the Flamingo to fan the flames of interest in the community.

Officially, our derby season will start on October 3rd and practice is every Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 pm at the FloMac gym

2017 Season

Kicking off another great season in 2017! Although we lost some of our vets due to moving, pregnancy, or retirement, we had a few new freshies join the team and they quickly passed mins and joined the team!

With 2017 being a transition year for the Ella's, we decided not to host the Solstice Slammer home tournament this year. BOOOO! Hopefully, things will be more solidified for the 2018 season and we can bring back the home tournament. The Ella's travels to Fort St. John in June on 2017 to play in the Triple Beheader against the Kill Billies Development team and our sister team the Grim Reapers. Fun was had by all and our girls look sweet rippn' around that track taking hits and scoring points!

The Junior Northern Sprites team was looking all cute in 2017 too! Those little skaters sure have a lot of heart and they leave it all out on the track. This program is gaining popularity and we hope to continue it for many years to come. It's great to have a junior team to groom for the adult league!

2016 Season

It's a new season, and the Ellas are out in full force!  This year we have recruited some new skaters. We are in the process of benchmarking them! We have a big schedule planned  this year. We are scheduled to have a home bout and an away bout (more details to come)!! The Ealls are on break right now, but they will be starting practices again on Feb 16. We practice Tuesday and Thursday (7:30PM-9:00PM) and have fun skate on Sundays from 2:00PM-4:00. We skate at Florence McDougall School from September- April and May-July at the High Level Arena. Come check us out.

If you are interested please send us an email or pop in!

This year the Aurora BorEllas started a Junior Team! The Northern Sprites Juniors, they have 10 skaters.

They have been skating since October and they are loving it, these juniors are are fearless and dedicated little skaters!  The juniors are currently doing their skill testing and focusing on skating skills with a little bit of game play. We have extended the juniors season till April. We are still welcoming new juniors. The juniors practice on Monday nights at 5:30 at Florence McDougall School. If you are interested in juniors please send us an email!

2015 Season...

To start off the derby season, some of the Aurora BoriEllas teamed up with the William's Lake Puddle Pounder's to played in a tournament at the end of April in Prince George, BC. They learned lots and came back with some strategy.  We practiced hard to prepare for our two games as a team.

The Ellas want to thank the Town of High Level residents for the amazing support at our game in May. We fought hard and gained a lot of confidence and experience in our game, the Grim Reapers took the win with a score of 169-87.

We had a rematch with the Grim Reapers on June 20 in Peace River. This is one of the best games our team has played. We came together as a team, held the lead into the second half but lost in the end with the score of 172-145.  We made them work for that win, it was a tough loss as one of our Ellas went down with an injury. We wish her a speedy recovery so she can join us in the fall!

We skated in the Town of High Level's Canada Day Parade and that is always fun! It was a great turn out by the community. Thank you for all the amazing support you have given our team.

The Ellas are taking a summer break, and will start up again in the fall with Fresh Meat. Fresh Meat Practice- will be at Florence MacDougall School, stay tuned for more information!

If you see the Ellas out skating this summer give them a wave or a high five!
